BC WIPE-When you delete a file completely (after dumping the recycle bin or by SHIFT-DELETE) you're not really deleting it. All you're doing is removing the reference to it on your hard drive. Any good file recovery program could find whatever information you've deleted and restore it quickly and completely. But, when you install BC Wipe, you remedy that situation. In Windows Explorer, just right-click files you'd like to wipe and then click the new menu item "Delete with wiping." It'll ask you to confirm it, and if you are really paranoid you can click "Option" and it will allow an option that the US Department of Defense recommends for extremely top secret information (seven-pass extended character wiping)! And, if you'd like to wipe all the previously deleted programs, highlight your hard drive in the left pane of Windows Explorer, right-click, and then click "Wipe free space." This utility is a great program to have when you need to completely erase sensitive information.

CHANGE EXT-When first looking at a program like ChangeExt, you might think that a file extension changer is unnecessary. You'd be wrong. The greatest part of this program is that you can do multiple file extension changes, which helps if you have a large quantity of files that have one extension but need another. Using Change Ext is easy, by the way. Just right-click on a highlighted file or files in Windows Explorer, and it will show the extension, and allow you to go to other menus to change the file info or extension and a lot of other cool things that you may need to do.

CONVERT-How many inches are in a mile? If you need to know that number, you can easily find out with Convert. This utility can convert same-type units (e.g. length, mass, etc.) into other same type units. There is a a lot to choose from. If you need a units conversion program, this program is the one to get. There is even an option to input your own conversion parameters. It requires MSVBVM50.DLL (Visual Basic 5.0 module).

DISK DETECTIVE-This little utility, when run, will tell how much disk space is being taken up by a given directory. It includes all sub-directories.

SPACE MONGER-SpaceMonger is a tool for keeping track of the free space on your computer. Each file or folder on a given drive is displayed in a box in the main window whose size is a relative comparison to all the other files in your system. So, for example, if the "Windows" box takes up 90% of the screen, the "C:\Windows" folder and all its sub-folders and files are taking up 90% of your "C:" drive.
